Behavioral Consultation

• Interview the individual, family members, caregivers, and relevant stakeholders
• Observe daily routines to assess skill sets for independent and supported living
• Observe behaviors of concern to determine environmental factors that trigger and maintain them
• Assess client preferences for desired treatment methods and outcomes

• Design appropriate data collections 
• Collect data on behaviors pre-intervention

Individualized Treatment Plans  contain the following:

1. Demographic and Person-Centered Info about the client
2. Client history and rationale for treatment
3. Functional Behavior Assessment Results
4. Behaviors targeted for increase and decrease
5. Strategies for improving the client's environment
6. Strategies for responding to behaviors targeted for decrease
7. Safety & Crisis guidelines (as needed)
8. Additional Recommendations (as needed)
9. Appropriate signatures
10. Training Plan

• Didactic presentations covering  treatment plan content
• Role-play and live demonstrations of treatment recommendations
• On-site observation of learned skills
• Thorough feedback and suggestions

• Consultant does not provide direct therapy to the individual
• Consultant does not provide other therapies (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Psychological Counseling, Speech Language Pathology, etc.)
• Therapeutic Consultation is not an emergency or crisis service
